Terms & Conditions

1. About us and these terms

1.1 This website and its competitions are run by ("we", "us", "our"), trading as Elite Competitions. We are a company registered in England and Wales, company number , with our registered office at . You can contact us at .

1.2 These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") apply to every competition on this website ("Competition"), together with the details shown on each Competition's page (prize, entry price, number of entries available, closing date and per-person limit), our Free Postal Entry rules, Winners & Prize Claim rules, Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. If a Competition page conflicts with these Terms, the Competition page applies for that Competition.

1.3 Our Competitions are prize draws run under Schedule 2 of the Gambling Act 2005 as free draws: every Competition can be entered free of charge by post, the free route is publicised as clearly as the paid route, and free entries are drawn on exactly the same basis as paid entries.

1.4 By entering a Competition, by either route, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully and keep a copy.

2. Who can enter

2.1 Competitions are open only to residents of the United Kingdom who are aged 18 or over at the time of entry.

2.2 You may not enter if you are an employee, officer or contractor of ours, or a member of their immediate family or household, or if you are otherwise professionally connected with running the Competition.

2.3 We may ask any entrant or winner for proof of identity, age and address at any time. If you cannot provide reasonable proof, or you are found to be ineligible, your entries will be void. Paid entries made by an ineligible person will be refunded where the law requires, but no prize will be awarded.

2.4 Entries made on someone else's behalf, through automated means or via third-party entry services are not accepted.

3. How to enter

3.1 Paid online entry. Create an account, choose the Competition and the number of entries you want, confirm that you are 18 or over, a UK resident and accept these Terms, and pay the entry fee shown at checkout. Each entry receives a unique entry (ticket) number, allocated at random once your payment is confirmed. Your entry numbers are shown in your account and by email.

3.2 An entry is only valid once payment has been successfully completed. If payment fails, is reversed or charged back, the related entries are void.

3.3 Free postal entry. You can enter any Competition free of charge by post as described in clause 4 and on our Free Postal Entry page.

3.4 Paid and free entries are treated identically in every respect, including eligibility, the per-person limit and the draw. No purchase is necessary to enter.

4. Free postal entry

4.1 To enter free of charge, send your full name, postal address, date of birth, phone number, email address and the name of the Competition you are entering, in an envelope with ordinary first or second class postage, to: .

4.2 One entry per envelope. Each envelope must contain a single entry for a single Competition; envelopes containing more than one entry will be treated as one entry. Bulk, multiple or mechanically produced entries are not accepted.

4.3 Postal entries must be received before the Competition closes (see clause 6). We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, damaged or illegible. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.

4.4 Each valid postal entry is given an entry number allocated at random and is entered into the same draw as paid entries, with exactly the same chance of winning. If a Competition sells out to paid entries, valid postal entries received before it closed are still included.

4.5 The only cost of a postal entry is the ordinary first or second class postage you pay. We never ask for any other payment.

4.6 If you have an account with us, please use the same email address so that your postal entries appear with your other entries.

5. Entry limits

5.1 Each Competition shows a maximum number of entries per person. The limit applies to paid and postal entries combined, and across all accounts and email addresses connected to the same person or household address.

5.2 Entries over the limit are void. Paid entries over the limit will be refunded.

6. Opening, closing, sell-outs and extensions

6.1 Each Competition opens and closes at the dates and times shown on its page (UK time). A Competition closes at the earlier of its stated closing time or the moment all available paid entries are sold ("sold out").

6.2 We may extend a Competition's closing date once, by up to [MAX EXTENSION, e.g. 14 days], if fewer than [MINIMUM SALES THRESHOLD, e.g. 75%] of entries have been sold, or because of circumstances outside our reasonable control. Any extension will be shown on the Competition page and existing entries remain valid. We will not shorten a Competition except where it sells out.

6.3 Where a Competition page states a minimum number of entries, and that minimum is not reached by the (extended) closing date, we may either run the draw for a reduced prize stated in advance on the Competition page or cancel the Competition and refund paid entries in full under clause 11.

7. The draw

7.1 After a Competition closes, and once every valid postal entry received before closing has been entered, one winning entry number is selected at random from all valid entries (paid and free) using a cryptographically secure random number generator on our server.

7.2 The draw normally takes place within [DRAW WINDOW, e.g. 7 days] of closing. The result, including the winning entry number, the total number of entries and the time of the draw, is recorded and published on our Winners page.

7.3 Our decision on the result of the draw is final, save in the case of obvious error, fraud or breach of these Terms, in which case we may void the result and redraw.

8. Winner notification and claims

8.1 We will contact the winner by email and/or phone using the details on the account or postal entry within [NOTIFICATION WINDOW, e.g. 7 days] of the draw.

8.2 The winner must respond and accept the prize within [CLAIM PERIOD, e.g. 28 days] of our first attempt to contact them, and provide any proof of identity, age and address we reasonably request. If they do not, we may redraw the Competition from the remaining valid entries and the original winner will lose the prize. Full details are in our Winners & Prize Claim rules.

9. Prizes and delivery

9.1 Prizes are as described on the Competition page. Images are for illustration only; the exact specification, colour or model may vary where a prize is not reasonably available, in which case we will provide a prize of equal or greater value.

9.2 Prizes are delivered free of charge to an address in the UK (or collected by arrangement) within [DELIVERY WINDOW, e.g. 28 days] of the winner's claim being verified, unless the Competition page says otherwise. Vehicle prizes include [VEHICLE INCLUSIONS, e.g. first-year insurance where stated]; the winner is responsible for any ongoing costs after delivery.

9.3 Prizes are not transferable and, apart from any cash alternative offered, cannot be exchanged for cash. Travel prizes are subject to the travel provider's terms, availability and any conditions stated on the Competition page.

10. Cash alternatives

10.1 Where a Competition page shows a cash alternative, the winner may choose to receive that amount instead of the prize by telling us within the claim period. Cash prizes and cash alternatives are paid by bank transfer to a UK bank account in the winner's name, normally within [CASH PAYOUT WINDOW, e.g. 7 days] of verification.

11. Cancellations and refunds

11.1 Because each entry is allocated a specific entry number in a Competition with a fixed closing date, you do not have a 14-day right to cancel paid entries once your entry numbers have been allocated (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 28(1)(g) as applicable to leisure services on a specific date). This does not affect your other legal rights.

11.2 If we cancel a Competition for any reason (including if a stated minimum is not met, the prize becomes unavailable, or circumstances outside our control prevent it from running fairly), all paid entries will be refunded in full to the original payment method, normally within [REFUND WINDOW, e.g. 14 days]. Free postal entrants will be told on the Competition page.

11.3 If a payment is taken but entries cannot be allocated (for example because the Competition sold out at the same moment), we refund that payment in full automatically.

11.4 We may void and refund entries that breach these Terms. We will not refund entries made in breach of clause 2 (eligibility) where the law allows us not to.

12. Instant wins

12.1 Some Competitions include instant-win prizes attached to specific entry numbers, fixed before the Competition opens. If an entry number allocated to you (by either route) matches an instant-win number, you win that prize, subject to these Terms and verification. Instant-win prizes are listed on the Competition page and are claimed in the same way as main prizes.

13. Publicity

13.1 We publish winners' first name, the initial of their surname and their county or town, along with the winning entry number. We will only use a winner's photograph, video or full name in publicity with their separate consent, which they may refuse without affecting their prize.

13.2 Where the law requires, we will provide a winner's name and county to anyone who asks to see that the prize was awarded.

14. Accounts and conduct

14.1 You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and accurate. You may only hold one account. You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy.

14.2 We may suspend or close accounts, void entries and withhold prizes where we reasonably suspect fraud, cheating, multiple accounts, underage entry or other breach of these Terms. See also our Responsible Play page for spending limits and self-exclusion.

15. Our liability

15.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

15.2 Subject to clause 15.1, we are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, for technical failures outside our reasonable control, or for entries not received because of problems with the internet, postal services or your device. Our total liability to you in connection with a Competition is limited to the amount you paid for your entries in that Competition, except in respect of a prize you have validly won.

15.3 Prize manufacturers' and suppliers' warranties pass to the winner where possible; we do not give any additional warranty on prizes beyond what the law requires.

16. General

16.1 We may change these Terms for future Competitions. The Terms in force when you entered apply to that entry.

16.2 If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in force. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.

16.3 If you have a complaint, please follow our Complaints procedure.

17. Governing law

17.1 These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You and we may both bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
